In the photo series “Mittendrin”, Cologne- based photographer Wolfgang Zurborn ventures into the leisure and consumer landscapes of the 1980s and 1990s. Driven by a fascination for crowds, he searches for bizarre situations in the midst of pleasure between street festivals and sports grounds. Zurborn’s subjective view on things is often revealed through his unusual image cropping. Through the use of a flash in daylight, the colourful photographs also take on a hyper-real component.

NEUmarkt – Nimm Platz

Von Ende Juni bis Ende August finden täglich Veranstaltungen in und um dem Pavillon der Künstlerin Erika Hock  statt. Ob Lesung, Ausstellung, Musik oder Filmvorführung - das gesamte Programm ist kostenlos und wird von einem kleinen Projektteam aus der Kulturverwaltung gemeinsam mit weiteren Akteur*innen aus dem Kulturbereich organisiert. Die Open-Air-Ausstellung Mittendrin und der Pavillon von Erika Hock als Ankerort für Veranstaltungen sind zwei Ideen, die bereits diesen Sommer in die Umsetzung gehen. The open-air exhibition “Mittendrin” and Erika Hock’s pavilion as an anchor location for events are two ideas that we already implement this summer.
